Random Team Generator
Paste your names, choose how many teams you need, and get a balanced random split in one tap — with an animation everyone can watch.
How the split works
PickCrew shuffles the list and deals it into the number of teams you ask for. With 12 people and 3 teams you get three teams of four; with 10 people and 3 teams it makes the team sizes as even as possible and tells you which team gets the extra person. Nobody is always first, and nobody is always last.
Made for classrooms, sports and workshops
- Classroom groups — split a class into project teams in one tap, without the same four students ending up together again.
- PE and club practice — balanced squads before a match, with the draw shown on screen.
- Hackathons and workshops — mix people who do not know each other, honestly.
- Team building — break a room into small groups fast, then export the teams as an image or sheet.
Fair by construction
Every run is an independent shuffle, so teams change each time. You can see the whole split before anyone moves, copy it, or save it to your history to compare later. Pairing two lists head-to-head (for example student ↔ mentor) is a separate mode with the same fairness rules.
FAQ
Can I choose how many teams?
Yes — pick any number of teams before the draw. PickCrew shows if a team would end up empty or uneven and asks you to confirm first.
What if the number of people does not divide evenly?
It still works: team sizes differ by at most one person, and the app tells you exactly how it split them.
Can I pair two lists instead of making teams?
Yes. Use the Pair mode to match two lists one-to-one — useful for mentors, tournament brackets or secret santas.
Is it free for teachers?
Picking, pairing and team splitting are free and unlimited, no account needed.
